Monitoring task and sensing route

FBG arrays provide observations at specified positions. Other quantities need suitable transducers or independent sensors, with documented calibration and power availability.

Original OriginSense application concept showing observation relationships, not a customer installation.

Published research observation

Bassan and colleagues combined FBGs and other sensors in underground distribution-network trials, recording temperature, loading and manhole events. [1]

Proposed comparisonMap sensor type and calibration to circuits, manholes and equipment identifiers.

Validation and integration priorities

Synchronize load, temperature and manhole state, validating each quantity against its own reference.

Record power loss, maintenance and communication gaps as system states rather than equipment anomalies.
